Intersect_segment_circle function


Hi there,

i am quite confused atm, since i have some problems with the detection of collisions.

1) I wonder, is the funtion "intersect_segment_circle" fail free, or is it just an estimation?

2) t = min(-b / (2 * a), 1.0)
I just cant figure out what for the min is needed :frowning:

Hey, what does it mean? I am also experiencing issues with collision detection: it seems that speed is not considered when comparing the circle sizes and the fudge is not clear whether is the solution.
What do you think?


Hey, just wanted to let you guys know that it works as intended. You might want to look somewhere else for the source of your collision troubles :stuck_out_tongue:

I've looked at the intersect_segment_circle function when trying to solve the collisions problem myself, turns out that the formula which they used there is sort of similar to the one used to detect ship collisions in the actual game.
